What is Flipboard?

Flipboard is an app that was created for the iPhone and iPad in 2010. Flipboard is a magazine format Social Network that collects content from Social Media and other websites. Users create magazines around their interests and this content is shared with other users. In July of 2014 Flipboard had 100 million active users.

Flipboard replicates the glossy magazine experience. Users share content with other users. Once content feeds have been set up the app automatically populates the magazines with new content. Flipboard enables a deep dive into content. The Co- Founders of Flipboard are Mike McCue and Evan Doll. At the last round of funding for Flipboard it was valued at $800 million.

Flipboard is a platform that not a lot of people are aware of, compared to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Google+ . The Flipboard website is here .
