There are now over 1.8 billion websites online. Yes, 1.8 billion. Of those, fewer than 200 million are active. The top five sites in the world are Google, YouTube, Facebook, Baidu and Wikipedia but even the top five face competition. Think for a moment about your business website, how much competition is your business facing? The only way for you to win online is for your website to become a site that your prospects find useful. Is your website a resource for your prospects? Valuable content on your site and tools can transform your site into a useful resource. The primary benefit of this is that you can build a rapport with your prospects before meeting them or speaking to them. Remember, more people will visit your website than you can meet face to face a during the course of a week.

How to Make Your Website a Resource

If you haven’t done so already, identify the buying personas of your prospects and create content and interactive tools that address the problems that they are facing and the needs they have. Put them first and you will see that average time spent on your website increases and your bounce rate decreases. You will also see more returning visitors. All of this is great because there will be more prospects to fill your sales funnel and convert into sales. Here’s a great example of a website becoming a resource from Babylon, a company that makes translation software.
