Do You Need Blab?
The question for today is, do you need Blab? Blab is a livestreaming app that allows you to speak to three other individuals. Four people can be in a Blab. It is very similar to Periscope and could be described as Periscope for groups. Instead of one person broadcasting to their Twitter audience four people can interact. It has meeting functionality and can facilitate greater interaction.
Blab was launched in April 2015 and in April 2016 it had amased 100K users. 100k users in a year is not very much.
What Competition Does Blab Face?
Blab faces competiton from Facebook Live with 1.4 billion monthly active users and also from Periscope with 10 million registered users and 2 million daily users. There is also Google Hangouts to consider. Blab does not have the traction or the level of activity of those other platforms or
My question was do you need Blab? My answer is no you don’t. I am not sure whether Blab will be around in a few years. Blab is not a platform that you should be investing a lot of time in.
